Hollywood Burbank Airport, (IATA: BUR, ICAO: KBUR, FAA LID: BUR), is 3 miles northwest of downtown Burbank, in Los Angeles County, California.
The airport serves Downtown Los Angeles and the northern Greater Los Angeles area, which include Glendale and Pasadena. The airport is known as one of the friendliest and most convenient airports for flying to or from Los Angeles, Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley.
Hollywood Burbank Airport is closer to many popular attractions including Griffith Park, Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood, and Downtown Los Angeles than Los Angeles International Airport.
It is the only airport in the area with a direct rail connection to Downtown Los Angeles, with service from Burbank Airport–North and Burbank Airport–South.

History of Hollywood Burbank Airport
The airport has been operating as a general aviation facility since the early 1930s. In 1939 sixteen daily airline departures were scheduled out of Burbank.
By the summer of 1962, Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) was operating all of its nonstop flights to San Francisco and San Diego with new Lockheed L-188 Electra turboprop aircraft with a combined total of 32 departures a week from Burbank.
In 1967 Lockheed renamed the facility Hollywood-Burbank Airport. In 2014, a $112 million Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) was opened.
Today, Advanced Air, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Avelo Airlines, Delta Connection, Flair Airlines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, JSX, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and United Express serve this facility’s two terminals A and B.
The airport has two asphalt runways: 15/33 2,099 meters by 46 meters and 8/26 1,768 meters by 46 meters.
In 2020, the airport catered 2 million passengers. Its busiest domestic routes were Phoenix–Sky Harbor, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Denver, Colorado, Oakland, California, Seattle/Tacoma, Washington, Sacramento, California, San Jose, California, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah, and San Francisco, California.
Non-stop flights serve cities in the western United States and short-haul international flights to western Canada, while JetBlue has daily flights to New York City.
